Peter C. Dossen is the Founder of Concern Rural Children Universe (CRCU). He is a Ph.D. student in Child Development and Early Childhood Education at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and has completed a graduate certificate in Early Childhood and Family Policy.

He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William V. S. Tubman University in Liberia and a Master of Arts in Child Development from the University of Haifa, Israel. Peter’s research interests revolved around parental adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), parenting practices, and their impact on children’s social-emotional and academic development.

He began his professional career in clinical nursing. Over time, through direct experiences and close observations of parent-child relationships in the catchment communities where he was assigned, he recognized that the most enduring impacts of Liberia’s civil war and the Ebola crisis were not just physical health but psychopathological influences within the family constellation that affect the well-being of young children and their families. This realization led him to shift his focus to child development and early childhood education.

Today, Peter is deeply committed to advancing equitable, high-quality early childhood care and education through evidence-based research, policy, and community-based programs. He ensures that every child, especially those growing up in under-resourced environments like Liberia, can thrive in safe, stable, and nurturing care settings.

Martha B. Anniway-Dossen is a Liberian educator, curriculum developer, and passionate early childhood care and education advocate. She is the Co-Founder and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Concern Rural Children Universe (CRCU). She currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Early Childhood Education at Cuttington University in Gbarnga, Liberia, where she teaches full-time.

Martha holds a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from William V. S. Tubman University, Liberia, and a Master of Arts in Child Development/Early Childhood Education from the University of Haifa in Israel. Furthermore, Martha has been admitted to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to pursue her Ph.D. in Educational Studies, specializing in Teaching, Curriculum, and Learning, Department of Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education (TLTE). Her career spans several leadership roles in college and K-12 school settings.

These include Principal roles at the Yu a Kpe Foundation School System and Hilltop School Inc./More Than Me Academy. Moreover, driven by her commitment to improving teaching and learning outcomes for young children, particularly in underserved and rural communities, Martha designs and facilitates training on integrated curriculum, formative assessment, classroom observation, and the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS).

She also leads community-based initiatives to strengthen school-community partnerships and increase parental involvement in education. Her research and professional interests include curriculum reform, culturally responsive teaching, authentic assessment, peace-building education, and children’s social-emotional development.

Drawing on her experiences during Liberia’s civil war and the nation’s ongoing education reform efforts, she is committed to creating inclusive, quality learning environments that meet the diverse needs of Liberia’s children. Her long-term goal is to contribute to national curriculum reform and advance international collaboration to strengthen Liberia's early childhood and primary education system, in which no child is left behind.

Patrick Seah Krah is the IT Manager/Officer of Concern Rural Children Universe (CRCU). He is a driven computer science student at William V. S. Tubman University, focusing on computer networking and real-world digital solutions. He is the WVSTU IT Club President and Acting Secretary General of the Tubman University Volunteer Movement (TUVM). He actively leads student innovation, community services, and initiatives in these roles.

Patrick also volunteers in the university’s IT Department to support technical operations while completing his senior project. His leadership extends to civic education and digital empowerment workshops, reflecting a strong commitment to using technology as a tool for community transformation.

Henry P. Toe serves as the Program and Resource Mobilization Director, bringing a wealth of experience and a strong educational background to the organization. He holds a bachelor’s degree in general agriculture from William V. S. Tubman University. Henry has a solid foundation in agricultural principles and practices. To further enhance his expertise, he earned a master’s degree in Sustainable Management of Biological Resources from Skövde University in Sweden, focusing on innovative approaches to environmental management and natural resource conservation.

With a proven track record in project management, Henry has successfully led developmental interventions across various sectors, including Education, Environment and Natural Resource Management, Conservation, Agriculture, and Livelihoods. His extensive experience encompasses research, grant and proposal writing, donor reporting, Program development, implementation, evaluation, and reporting.

Henry's leadership is characterized by a commitment to fostering collaborative partnerships, advancing sustainable development, and improving communities’ well-being. His dedication to promoting effective resource mobilization strategies has significantly contributed to enhancing the organization's impact and capacity to address critical developmental challenges. Passionate about driving change, Henry remains focused on empowering communities through sustainable initiatives that ensure a better future for both people and the planet.
